Ingredients
- 2 cups masarepa flour
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (room temperature)
- 1½ cup mozzarella cheese (freshly shredded)
- ¼ cup whole milk
- 2½ cups lukewarm water
- Nonstick cooking spray
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine masarepa flour, salt, and sugar. Add room temperature butter and shredded mozzarella; mix well.
- Gradually pour in milk and lukewarm water while kneading the dough until smooth. Let it rest for about 5 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 6 equal balls and flatten each into a disc about ½ inch thick.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and spray with nonstick cooking spray. Cook each arepa for approximately 5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
