Ingredients
- 10 banana peppers
- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 1 small onion
- 2–3 cloves garlic
- 1 large egg
- 24 oz marinara sauce
- 1 ½ cups shredded Italian cheese blend
- Italian seasoning
- crushed red pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Cut and prepare the banana peppers by removing the seeds.
- Sauté diced onion and minced garlic in butter or olive oil until softened.
- In a mixing bowl, combine Italian sausage, cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, seasoning, and sautéed onion and garlic until smooth.
- Pour marinara sauce into a baking dish, stuff banana peppers with the mixture, and arrange in the dish.
- Cover with foil and bake for about 55 minutes until tender.
- Remove foil, add cheese on top of each pepper, and bake for an additional 5 minutes until melted.
